WHAT DO WE TEACH YOUR CHILD IN CLASS 1?

Children within the Foundation Stage follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS).
There are seven areas of learning. These are;

Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Making relationships, self-confidence and awareness, managing feelings and behaviour.

Physical Development
Moving and handling, health and self-care

Communication and Language
Listening and attention, Understanding, Speaking

Literacy
Reading, Writing

Mathematics
Numbers, shape, space and measures

Understanding the World
People and communities, the world, technology

Expressive Arts and Design
Exploring and using media and materials
Being imaginative

We plan and provide a range of fun, stimulating and challenging practical activites that
allow children to learn through play and make progress through the seven areas of learning.

PE

Our PE days are changeable so we recommend children bring their kit on a Monday and take it home on a Friday (just in case our days change!). All kit should be labelled and in a seperate PE bag. Kit should look like this:

 Homework

Children will be given a school reading book and a learning diary for recording their reading at home and in school. The children need to bring their book and diary into school every day. It is a good idea to keep these in a school book bag.
