:

Class 2 - Mrs Boam

Welcome to Class 2!

My name is Mrs Boam (Bow-um) and I am the class teacher. Mrs Rowntree is the class cover supervisor.

 Our way of Learning

We have a system of learning which has been very successful and has shown the children to make excelerated progress in reading, writing and maths. It is centred around good quality provison in an atmosphere that is calm and allows the children to achieve in all 7 aspects of the EYFS curriculum:

Phsyical Development

Personal, social and emotional development

Communication and Language

Literacy

 Mathematics

 Understanding the world

 Expressive Arts and Design.

Our system allows the children to have a quality guided teaching session everyday, in a small group in a quiet atmosphere. They then move onto an Independent session, consolidating what they have learnt and having a go by themselves (promoting good independence). When they are not having their group guided session the children are' choosing to use' from a variety of high quality resources indoors or otutdoors, all the time having high quality interaction from a teacher or cover Supervisor.

Each day in the afternoon, the children will recieve a RWI session to further enhance reading skills and letter formation. They will then complete topic activities in the afternoon (whole school approach).

Each day our children are entitled to Milk and Snack, please ensure we are aware of any allergies!

PE

We have PE twice a week but the days change so we would like all children to bring their kit on a monday and take it home on a Friday. All kit should be labelled and in a seperate PE bag. Kit should look like this:

Homework

Children will be given a school reading book and a learning diary for recording their reading at home and in school. The children need to bring their book and diary into school every day. It is a good idea to keep these in a school book bag.
