Welcome to Class 3!!
What will your child be asked to do at home?
We are very busy learning all year round and would love for our parents and carers to help enhance their children’s learning journey. We ask for your help with reading and their homework, which will be given out on a Friday and is to be returned on each wednesday. Reading with your child should happen every day for around 15 minutes each. The children enhance their reading levels best when the answer questions about their books, as well as learning the words using their sounds.
We also ask parents to help their child learn basic maths facts. For year 1 in the autumn term, that is Number bonds to 5 and 10. Number bonds are 2 numbers that when added together make 5 or 10. E.g, 6 + 4 =10.
Children can bring evidence of this into school (learning diaries) and can gain points. The more points, the more PRIZES and more golden time priveledges.
We really value your continued support!
Our PE days are Tuesday and Thursday but please try and encourage your child to bring their kit on Monday and take home on Friday!
Your child's PE kit should look like this:
