Parents and Carers, we ask that you please support your child with their daily organisation and equipment needed in school.

Yellow learning diaries must be in school every day. The children are encouraged to bring these home to record their learning each night. Daily reading points are given for reads and celebrated on the charts in our classrooms.

Homework points are awarded for work carried out at home, such as handwriting practise, number bond revision, research into topics learnt at school. Children can bring in work that they have completed or it can be recorded in their yellow learning diary. Prizes are rewarded for hitting different amounts of points.

This weeks homework:

Our PE days are:

Tuesday and Thursday Afternoon

Children should bring their kit into school on a Monday and keep their kit in their locker until they take it home on a Friday. It is recommended that children have a warm top and jogging bottoms for outdoor PE at the moment as temperatures are quite low.

Our Arthog day is Wednesday. We recommend that children have wellington boots or old trainers in school for these sessions.

Our topic for the  second half of Spring term is 'Memory Box' and in Science we will be learning about seasonal changes. Why not share some memories with your children of your family? Look back on old photos, maybe watch an old programme or film together. Enjoy a story that you enjoyed when you were little.

 Read, Write, Inc.

In Year 1 we use RWI to teach the children their sounds. We then use these sounds to help with reading and writing words. Attached below is the RWI set 1, set 2, and set 3 sounds. We have also sent these home with the children in their homework bags. Please practise these sounds at home.
